After several setbacks and lots of rain holding us off from running the engine for the first time...Today our IO-540 with 350+ horsepower was powered up! This was a zero timed Lycoming engine that we had sent out to Lycon in California. Watch as we put the final touches on the plane (spark plugs, etc). Engine start on video @ 1:46

We are currently running mineral oil in the engine for the break in period. We will fly off those 5+ hours and do another oil change with mineral oil one more time for another 5 + more hrs before going to our regular engine oil.

Tempest Spark Plugs and Oil Filters are our preferred choice for our airplanes.
