The Vatican has published the guiding document for the final part of the Synod on Synodality, the Instrumentum Laboris. Vice President and Editorial Director for EWTN News, Dr. Matthew Bunson, joins to share what the role and importance of this document is when the synod re-convenes in Rome in October. The guiding document notably does not include some of the controversial topics that were included during last year's gathering, such as women's admission to the diaconate. Dr. Bunson explains what this signals to him. The Instrumentum Laboris addresses the need for more transparency to restore the Church's credibility in the face of the scandal including sexual abuse and financial misconduct. Dr. Bunson tells us what it says and whether there are other topics of note. Looking ahead, the October synod in Rome marks the end of the "discernment" phase of the synodal process. Dr. Bunson discusses what comes after that.
