So far I am very impressed with these weighing scales. To clarify, they are the ones you stand on to weigh yourself. Except these measure a LOT more than your weight. They measure 15 different parameters including your BMI, your Body Age, Percentage Muscle, etc.
There seems to be a lot of functionality for the price with these scales. The ones I bought are from Amazon: [ Ссылка ]
HOW TO USE:
- Insert the two AAA batteries (supplied) into the underside of the scales.
- Download the App, called 'Shining Health' by scanning the QR code on the instruction leaflet that comes with the scales. For those who have struggled to find the app in the App store, I have attached a picture of the QR code to this review. Simply point your camera at it as though you are taking a photograph, and it will automatically come up with the link from where you can download the app.
- Open the App and create your account.
- During the setup process, it prompts you to enter data about yourself such as age, gender, height and so on. It also asks which units of measurement you prefer, e.g. Lbs, KGs, stones etc.
- Eventually you will get to a screen asking you to pair your phone with the scales. Make sure your Bluetooth is turned on, and press the 'go' button on your phone screen.
- That's it! The scales will weigh you and beam the data to the app on your phone so that you can get detailed readings.
- Every time you want to weigh yourself after that, open the App (or it won't sync with the scales), and step on the scales (they turn on automatically) to get your new readings.
- It's worth noting that you need to be barefoot when using the scales.
The video above shows you how it all works.
THE GOOD THINGS ABOUT THE SCALES:
- It looks sleek with a black mirror finish, and it is very slim.
- The setup is dead easy and very intuitive.
- You get 15 different health readings from simply weighing yourself. A small electrical pulse (not shock!) is also sent through your feet to get things like 'water' readings.
- Each of the 15 readings can be clicked upon and expanded, so you get an explanation of what the readings mean.
- You can view 'trends'. So if you are trying to lose weight, you can see if you are going in the right direction.
- If you just want to weigh yourself you can simply step on the scales to get a reading and you don't need to use the App.
- It will connect to your FitBit. Click on the 'me' button at the bottom of the screen, Then select 'settings' in the top right (looks like a pentagon) and select 'connect to FitBit'.
- You can add up to 8 different users for the scales, each with their own biometric data.
- It also has the option to sync with the iPhone 'Health' App. Instruction are found in 'me', then 'settings' and 'sync with health app'.
- You can set reminders to weigh yourself, again found in 'me', 'settings' and 'weight remind'.
- Batteries and a tape measure are included. The tape measure is not needed for the scales, it's just a little added extra so you can measure your waist, biceps etc. as you lose weight.
THE NOT-SO-GOOD-THINGS ABOUT THE SCALES:
- Some of the 15 measures (e.g. protein, water) aren't really much use unless you are seriously into health
- Some people said that they don't measure in KG. But they do. Click on 'Me' at the bottom, then 'settings' at the top right, and you have the option in 'Unit Settings' to choose the units that you prefer.
- I have noticed some comments doubting the accuracy of the readings. I will keep an eye on this over the next couple of weeks and update this review if necessary.
- Because an small electrical current is used to measure Body Fat, this product is not recommended for people with Pacemakers.
Anyway, all in all these are pretty good scales. The fact that you get a whole load of data every time you step on them definitely make weigh-ins more interesting. I particularly like the fact that it gives you your 'Body Age'. The scales kindly told me that my body age was 5 years less than my actual age, which made me like it even more.
