The striking of Big Ben at 7am on May 7, 2015 marked the opening of polling stations across the United Kingdom for the 2015 general election.
The election is set to be one of the most unpredictable in living memory, with neither of the main two political parties likely to gain a majority in the House of Commons.
Polls close at 10pm May 7.
