Germany, the country of beer, sausages and Oktoberfest, is an interesting country no doubt about it !

Fact N°1
Germans are the second largest beer consumers in the world, after the Irish (of course).
Beer is officially considered a food in Bavaria.
To ask for a beer in a pub, you would use your thumb to indicate "one" rather than your index finger.
There are over 60 beer gardens in Munich.
Fact N°2
The most popular German surname (Nachname) is Müller.
but of course we can find a lot more used surnames like : schmidt, schneider (taylor), Fischer, weber, wagner and so on..
Fact N°3
There are over 300 kinds of bread in Germany. we can name for example : Pretzel was actually invented by mistake in Munich in 1839.
There are over 1,000 kinds of sausages in Germany. so you can find Bratwurst which is made from pork and beef
Nürnberger, Blutwurst and Bockwurst .
Fact N°4
German is the official language of 5 countries: Germany, Switzerland, Austria, Luxembourg and Liechtenstein.
It is also spoken in Northern Italy and the French provinces of Alsace and Lorraine.
There are 35 dialects of the German language
German-learners who step off the plane in Austria, Germany, or Switzerland for the first time are in for a shock
if they know nothing about German dialects. Although standard German (Hochdeutsch) is widespread and commonly
used in typical business or tourist situations, there always comes a time when you suddenly can't understand
a word, even if your German is pretty good.
