Happy #ClassicCountryCovers Monday, friends! Wanted to play y’all one of my favorite songs that inspires me as a writer. “Good Ole Boys Like Me”, sung by the amazing Don Williams, written by one of the greatest song craftsmen, Bob McDill. I usually cry when I hear this song, not gonna lie 😂 By the time it gets to the line “I was smarter than most and I could choose, I learned to talk like the man on the 6 o’clock news…”, you don’t know if his so-called progress is a victory or a tragedy. Improving yourself, or losing yourself? Heavy stuff, all over top of one of the most beautiful melodies I’ve ever heard. Bob McDill… *chef’s kiss* #DonWilliams #BobMcDill #goodoleboyslikeme
