Cervical cancer is almost 100 percent preventable and yet Hoosiers are still impacted by this disease. Join the IU Simon Comprehensive Cancer Center as we explain the burden and of cervical cancer, who is most vulnerable, screening recommendations, and the importance of vaccination to prevent HPV infections.

o Learn the recommended schedule for HPV vaccination and the cancers it protects against
o Describe health promotion and disease prevention behavioral strategies to promote to patients
Speaker: Mary Robertson, MPH
Mary Robertson is the Cancer Prevention and Screening Lead for the IU Simon Comprehensive Cancer Center’s Office of Community Outreach and Engagement. Mary is a graduate of Purdue University and received her master’s degree in Public Health from the Fairbanks School of Public Health at IUPUI. Previously, Mary served as the Director of the Indiana Cancer Consortium (ICC), Indiana’s statewide comprehensive cancer coalition. Before transitioning into the Director role, Mary was the Tobacco Cessation and Prevention Manager with the ICC, implementing tobacco Health Systems Change in cancer centers across Indiana. Over the past six years, Mary has worked and volunteered for several Indiana nonprofits and has a passion for improving the health of all Hoosiers.
