The Pakistan Super League (PSL) play-offs started in Lahore recently with opening face-off between Lahore Qalandars & Multan Sultans. The first qualifier of tournament garnered much attention but it also had its share of controversies.
Two players – legendary West Indian all-rounder Kieron Pollard & Pakistan’s Shaheen Afridi got into a heated altercation on the field allegedly over some big hits & boundaries by the former.
Shaheen, usually the calm & cool Pakistani speedster, lost his cool after he got a strong beating by Pollard in second last over of the match.
In the 19th over of Multan’s innings, Kieron Pollard hit 3 sixes on Lahore skipper Shaheen’s balls. And, subsequently what followed was a heated exchange between the duo – Pollard & Afridi. Both were seen yelling at each other.
With Pollard displaying some clinical batting skills, the Multan Sultans sailed into the next stage of game & have also been marked as among the top favourites of tournament.
