LAPD officers are being investigated after they shot knife-wielding man Kenneth Sylvas, 68, with rubber and bean bag bullets on February 26 after he refused to drop his weapon. On February 26 LAPD officers responded to a call at a Los Angeles restaurant where a woman reported that a man holding a four-inch knife threatened her. 'He said, "Shut up or I’m going to slice your throat," she told officers. Officers found Sylvas inside the restaurant with the knife, refusing to come out. After he refused to comply for about 10 minutes, officers approached him and fired three rounds of rubber bullets from a 40mm device and two rounds from a bean bag shotgun.
