GTT - The Glucose Tolerance Test
A diabetic is well acquainted with the terms - fasting blood sugar level, postprandial blood sugar level, HbA1c, etc. Along with these, it is of utmost importance for a diabetic to understand the term GTT that is Glucose Tolerance Test. GTT is a world-accepted gold standard test to diagnose diabetes. GTT is a test that is performed in a government-approved laboratory under the supervision of a doctor only.
The glucose tolerance test measures the amount of glucose (sugar) your cells are able to absorb. In this test 15 tsp of sugar is dissolved in water and blood sugar level is checked after two hours. If your blood sugar is below fasting is below 100 and PP below 140 you are declared GTT pass. It is a big achievement for a diabetic to pass GTT. GTT pass means one has successfully reversed his/her diabetes.
