Environmental education should inspire learners of all ages to value and take personal effort to care for the more-than-human world around them. In this conversation, we'll explore the positive impacts of environmental education, the power of individual and collective action, and why environmental literacy should be a core curriculum component of all K-12 schools.
Nicole Freidenfelds is a Visiting Assistant Extension Educator in the Department of Natural Resources and the Environment at the University of Connecticut. A former research scientist and high school science teacher, Nicole now coordinates environmental education programs for youth, teachers, and adult volunteers through UConn's Natural Resources Conservation Academy
