Coming in at the very edge of maximum carry on capacity, the CTB40 is an excellent choice for trips when you need to bring a ton of stuff but still maintain the mobility afforded by a backpack over roller luggage.
Its unique compression system forms a "bucket" that is easy to throw gear into and the straps + folding wings lets you really overpack the bag but still compress everything down into a very dense and tight package. While the bag can get quite heavy when fully packed (or overpacked), the always excellent Evergoods suspension system keeps it tight and relatively comfortable to carry for decent distances.
The key downsides include its unavoidably large size, a sticky main zipper that tends to snag around the corners and extremely limited external first order access that essentially necessitates the use of a sling or other bag when traveling with this pack.
Regardless, for the right use cases (especially crossover outdoor + urban travel) requiring a large carrying capacity, the Evergoods CTB40 is an interesting and very strong contender.
