When leaving your All Inclusive Hotel by yourself or maybe you stay at an airbnb. You can easily find food options in the little villages.
A comedor ( Comer = eat) where you usually can have rice, chicken, other meat maybe depending in location and size of the Comedor, or for a little snack an empanada.
The food is already cooked and not so hot, just warm. Some Empanadas are fried already, or made fresh.
Buying you food along the road, it’s cash only. The best is to have small Dominican money on you. Change at a “casa de cambio” or a bank before you leave the tourist area.
Almost everywhere you will get fresh Juice also. It’s often seasonal and …. sweet :-)
The Punta Cana Village is a whole different story than eating on the street. Many food choices, drinks from water over cocktails ( hey we are in the Caribbean :-)) to wine.
The Punta Cana Village is between the Airport Punta Cana and Cap Cana.
Most of the restaurants don’t have the 18% tax and 10% ley ( tip) included in their price. So it’s good to ask.
In this area you will normally get your check in Dominican peso, USD and Euro. In many places you can also pay with your Credit Card.
Please remember that the Dominican Republic is still under Curfew.
When ever you come please Inform yourself at what time you will have to be back to your Hotel.
It is recommendable to learn a few Spanish word before you come. :-)
