Toyota is widely reported to be developing an all-new Fortuner and is expected to make its global debut early next year before going on sale in foreign markets. Considering its popularity in India, the full-size SUV could make its way locally in the near future – predictably towards the end of 2023 or early 2024. The Japanese manufacturer has been riding on a wave of momentum created by the latest launches such as the heavily updated Glanza and the all-new Urban Cruiser Hyryder. The midsize SUV is sold in an expansive range and is available for buyers in two powertrain choices: a 1.5-litre mild-hybrid petrol sourced from Maruti Suzuki and an in-house developed 1.5-litre strong hybrid mill.

The comeback of the 2024 Nissan Xterra is still a hot topic. Still, the company keeps fans in suspense. The Terra SUV debuted in Asia, but that doesn’t mean too much for the vehicle with a similar name. First of all, the US market is quite different and more demanding. The company discontinued the Xterra because the redesign and improvements were about to cost too much. Now, the all-new model after a few years will be even more expensive to build. On the other hand, if they use the same platform as the one that underpins Terra, then the purpose won’t be the same as it used to be.
