NBN Fault:- July 15th 2024 testing Network lag issues on Fiber to the Premise using Tracert in cmd window using a min W10 Install, on a Toshiba Tecra, wired Directly to the UNI-D1 Ethernet port of the NBN NTD.

This "lag" issue has been going on for months. Our Internet service provider has been so far technically unable to rectify; despite near on 50+hrs of back and forth phone and email interchanges.

We have been forced to take the following actions, in stages during the recent months.

Fire to the Premise as an upgrade to ADSL we had previously `had for many years will only issue being during extreme rain storms flooding those old Telstra pit and thus copper 2 pair cable joins giving issues

1. Replace our ISP's supplied Tplink modem with a Brand New ASUS RT-AX54HP Modem (at our expense)

2. purchase and install 1 by 20m certified Cat 8 Ethernet cable from NTD UNI-D1 port to new Asus Router (placed in family room) about 1m from main computer desk. very central location

3. Purchase a Refurbished Toshiba Tecra with a Min installed W10 to connect for testing. (has no auto updates nor firewall enabled)

4. After a few months of on going near unusable internet, despite our ISP's attempts to resolve we Contacted the ACMA and TIO to lodge formal complaints.

5. Today July 15 2024 decided to purchase a new Internet Service from a Different Internet Provider, requesting it to be run in Parallel with our existing ISP.

1st ISP is on UNI-D1 port on NTD
& I requested this new ISP
2nd to activate UNI-D3 port on NTD.

Note UNI-D1 & D2 pass though one of the two balum transformers (u4) and UNI-D3 & D4 pass through the second of the two balum transformers (u19). I doubt the balum (U&T UTG48T03) is issue, but nothing on the PCB appears duplicated or quadruple.


6. Did a clean install of Ubuntu 22-04-4 on a Desktop pc i7-3930k-cpu-3-20Gxz-x-12 hard wired to Router, or NTD depending on testing need.


7 Added Monitorix and CACTI to a SBC Odroid xu-4 running Ubuntu 22-04-4 also hard wired to look at network and beyond so to say.

8. we upped our Data plan to highest our ISP has giving us ave 934Mbps download and around high 40's Mbps upload. And we get these speeds randomly through the day and night.

big issue is just doing normal browsing, technical research or like, and at times pages take 1 to 2 minutes to load.

There are only 2 of us older adults in house using the internet.
we dont use/play any forms of games.

Anyways the video here is of my testing our internet connect per our ISP's request today July 17th using my Toshiba Direct connected to the NDT UNI-D1 port.

Sorry for the average quality as I was filming with my Samsung Phone, and at last minute decided to upload it so our ISP can see in real time issue.

u will note before each test in latter part of Day I started using Date then Time command follows by Tracert, followed immedately by time cmd again, so as to allow comparisons.

Also I tracert 'd 1.1.1.1 then 2.2.2.2 then 3.3.3.3 followed by our ISP's web address as per their request.
