As a nurse, you'll want to be familiar with the different types of AV (atrioventricular) heart blocks. Some of the important characteristics of a 2nd-degree type 2 heart block includes the following:
-PR intervals stay constant and can be either normal or prolonged.
-P waves are normal and regular, but the QRS complex will be missing after some P waves.
The atrial rate is normal and the atrial rhythm is regular. However, the ventricular rate will be slower since some of the QRS complexes are missing, and the ventricular rate will also be irregular.
