ABOUT CHAITANYA KUNTE
Dr. Chaitanya Kunte is a Harmonium player, composer, a researcher in cultural musicology and a teacher. He received extensive training in Hindustani Art music under three eminent Gurus, Dr. Arawind Thatte, Pt. Mohanrao Karve and Dr. Ashok Ranade. He also got insights from the acquaintance of Pt. Balasaheb Poochwale, Pt. Vasantrao Rajurkar, Pt. Dinkar Kaikini and Smt. Rohini Bhate.
He is one of the leading Harmonium players having accompanied maestros such as Bhimsen Joshi, Kishori Amonkar, Prabha Atre, Rajan Sajan Mishra, Ulhas Kashalkar, Rashid Khan, Ashwini Bhide, Arati Ankalikar and many others. He has widely performed in India and abroad. He also presents solo Harmonium concerts and lecture-demonstrations. Being a creative music performer, he has presented more than 25 thematic concerts.
Dr. Kunte is also a prominent composer of this generation and he has composed more than 400 compositions covering a wide range of musical genres. His Bandishes are published in two volumes named ‘Raga Chaitanya’. There are some commercial recordings to his credit as a composer, such as ‘Srujan Pratham’ & ‘Srujan Dwitiya’, ‘Rasiya’, ‘Prawahee’, ‘Tappe Di Bahar’, ‘Smaran Tarang’, ‘Raga Niragas’, ‘Bhawanjali’, ‘Dinacharya’, ‘Bhaj Govindam’, and ‘Akash-Mogara’.
He has done M.A. (History & Indology), M. Phil. (Archaeology), Ph.D. (Music) and he is a ‘Sangeet Alankar’. He is also a recipient of fellowship for research work on ‘Tappa’ from Ministry of Culture, Govt. of India.
Dr. Kunte is currently working as Assistant Professor and Guru at Centre for Performing Arts of Savitribai Phule Pune University. He is a founder director of Dr. Ashok Ranade Archives of performing culture, Pune.
He has received Govindrao Patwardhan Harmonium Award, Keshavrao Bhole Composer Award, Vasantotsav Award, Rohini Bhate Award for dance-music compositions, Music Forum Research Award.
ABOUT VIBHAV KHANDOLKAR
Vibhav began his training under Pt. Pundalik Kalangutkar and then from Pt. Tulsidas Navelkar. Presently he is taking advance training under Pt. Ramdas Palsule in Pune.
Vibhav has accompanied famous artistes such as Pt. Vijay Kaporkar, Pt. Anand Bhate, Pt. Shaunak Abhisheki, Pt. Kaivalya Kumar Gurav, Pt. Prabhakar Karekar, Pt. Praveen Sheolikar, Pandita Aarti Anklikar, Pandita Devaki Pandit, Pt. Mahesh Kale , Pt. Rahul Deshpande, Mrs. Manjusha Kulkarni, Swapna Datar, Kala Ramnath and many more in India. He has also performed & conducted workshops in Portugal, Dubai & Abu Dhabi, Switzerland, Austria, Germany and London.
He has performed in various National and International festivals like 19 Luth international festival Tetouan Morocco, Sawai Gandharva Sangeet Mahotsav, Pune etc.
Vibhav has completed his Masters in Music from Bharati Vidyapeeth Deemed University, Pune and Alankar Pratham from Akhil Bhartiya Gandharva Mahavidhyalay Mandal, Miraj.
