HOUSTON (AP) -- Authorities have charged the husband of a missing Houston-area woman with capital murder in connection with her death. The charge on Thursday against Matthew Sowders comes hours after authorities found a body in the waters of Cypress Creek near the home of his estranged wife, 26-year-old Melissa R. Sowders. The Harris County Sheriff's Office says the body has not yet been officially identified. Members of Texas EquuSearch and sheriff's deputies had searched the creek area for several days after Melissa Sowders was last seen on Dec. 26. Investigators have said they believe the woman was the victim of foul play. The sheriff's office on Monday announced her car was found in a parking lot.
