This young male had never wheezed before and presented to the emergency department with severe wheezing, abdominal breathing and intercostal retractions. This video was created to demonstrate the physical examination finding of intercostal retractions. A specific viral titer was not tested, but because he presented during an Enterovirus D68 outbreak it is presumed that this young man (who had never wheezed before) was infected with that virus.
