In Arbat refugee camp, Syrian children, refugees from the ongoing civil war, are learning to code, exploring creativity, and gaining a knowledge of English. Thanks to a 12-week program, created in partnership between Kurdistan Save The Children, World Learning, and Kano.
Funded by a grant from the Catalyst Foundation, Kurdistan Save the Children and World Learning approached Kano to co-create a curriculum, and bring Kano Computer Kits to South Kurdistan.
So far, more than 500 Syrian children living in the Arbat refugee camp (Iraq), have learned to code, made art, created their own Minecraft worlds, improved their English, and had a whole lot of fun, with the Raspberry Pi powered Kano Computer Kit Complete, running Kano OS.
