With your knife firmly held in one hand and the cucumber on your cutting board parallel to the base of the board slice the cucumber in half lengthwise. Place each half on the cutting board cut side down side-by-side and slice into thin half-moon slices to your desired thickness.
Tip: cucumbers can slide when placing the inside flesh on cutting board so maintain control when holding.
