Learn how to sew Cage liners for critter and ferret nation with U-haul padding.
Some small pets are not great at using a litter box, So adding an absorbent layer to your case liners is helpful and controlling the smell of urine.
In this tutorial I use U-Haul padding as the absorbing layer. You can pick up U-Haul furniture pads at any U-Haul store the relatively inexpensive and will definitely help keep your kids liners smelling better for a little bit longer than maybe using newspaper or other types of bedding.
You will need the following materials to make these Cage liners:
- 2.5 yards of fleece for the top of the liners
- 2.5 yards of fleece for the bottom of the liners
- 1 package if U-Haul Furniture padding
- Velcro (optional)
- sewing machine
- pen/pencil
- pins or clips
I make my liners a bit longer than the actual pans so they can be tucked under. This helps keep the animals from getting between the layers Fleece and for extra protection I added Velcro as well.
