With so many new distilleries why are these guys being showcased by all the big name reviewers. The distillery was built on one of the most remote areas of Scotland where legal distilling had never been done before. It may be a long and difficult drive from Glasgow but the remote Ardnamurchan Peninsula has some of the most beautiful coastline and scenery in Scotland. I had mentioned this distillery when I covered all the new distilleries in the video 'A New Whisky Boom or Another Whisky Loch'. This was a video on the endless number of new distilleries that have opened in Scotland as well as the ones in the works. Ardnamurchan at that time was just another new distillery that you could have forgotten easily considering how many have started up. But the distillery kept showing up in these raving reviews no matter how hard the name was to pronounce or how distant and desolate the Ardnamurchan Peninsula is. I have been hesitant to buy young whiskies like Ardnamurchan even though I do support those young Canadian Single Malt Distilleries, especially the ones on Vancouver Island that are also starting to make noise. After sitting in a whisky bar in Victoria on Vancouver Island, with my daughter, I was given a couple of free samples of whisky to try from the classy owner. One of these was the Ardnamurchan AD/. That was the start of my interest and journey. Now I was looking for the bottle which I had seen some place along the way. To add to the story I actually did find it and bought the the very last bottle in a specialty store that I frequent. But it still took me a while to get the motivated to do this review. I started to explore the Ardnamurchan Peninsula on the computer as well as researched the Adelphi Bottling Company that had built the distillery. I did have some knowledge of them and knew that they did quality bottlings. I soon I had a story and was actually excited about doing this review. I have to mention that this distillery is known as one of the greenest distilleries in Scotland. It also had some help from the Iconic 'Whisky Einstein' the Late Great Dr. Jim Swan. So what is their whisky all about. Let's get into the review. Enjoy.
