People seemed to enjoy my previous video which investigated some of Murray Gold's possible inspirations in his Doctor Who theme arrangements, so here's a look at some of the sources he has drawn on when creating the songs and score of the past nine seasons.

Again, this isn't meant as a criticism of Murray, or to suggest that he's derivative. All composers (and indeed all artists) draw on and pay tribute to other works that have influenced them, and Murray is no different. Rather, this video is meant as an examination of what these influences exactly are. Some score pieces gain an extra level of depth when you discover what they were based upon!
