If you get vertical Black lines across a printer page, usually the problem is with the drum. Not that it is bad, but just the slide tab market with an arrow is out of its place. Please slide it over to the left to meet the other arrow. They should be pointing towards each other.
If you have done that and you still get the black lines, it is possible that your drum is bad.
You don't have to buy Brother brand drums which cost a fortune.
Ebay sells drums for around $10-$20, depending on your printer model.
