Hi, Sierra Pujals here with the Pujals Team, Coldwell Banker Brokers of the Valley. When looking for a home, most buyers want one with an updated kitchen. But what if you don’t have the resources or time to do a full kitchen remodel prior to selling? That’s where home staging comes in. Here are our top tips for staging your kitchen so it most appeals to buyers.
First, clean everything … and I mean everything! Make sure all the surfaces and fixtures are spotless. Clean both the inside and outside of appliances. Make the kitchen sparkle like it never has before. A thorough cleaning will make any kitchen more appealing to buyers.
Next, clear the countertops. When your countertops are cluttered, your kitchen looks smaller than it really is. Therefore, have no more than two countertop appliances out. Also remove canisters, dishracks, and other knick-knacks. If you’re still living in the home, this can make cooking inconvenient, but remember that it’s temporary.
Finally, display one natural element. For example, display a vase of fresh cut flowers, a bowl of fresh fruit, or some potted herbs. These natural elements will give the kitchen a fresh feeling and a nice pop of color.
If the kitchen is the heart of the home, then it makes sense to stage it so it speaks to the hearts of your buyers.
