A CVPR 2022 demonstration of Qualcomm Research's advanced computer vision research for real-time photorealistic facial avatars for XR. Photorealistic avatars are an essential ingredient for enabling immersive XR experiences in the metaverse. In the demo, you'll see that the generated avatar is nearly equivalent to the ground truth. You'll also see how our facial relighting algorithms simulate the ambient lighting of the virtual environment onto the avatar to increase photorealism.
