Learn how to identify and process your hidden emotions with an emotion wheel. An emotion wheel takes the core emotions (fear, anger, surprise, happy, sad, disgust) and breaks it down to three more detailed levels. As one example, when using this tool, the emotion anger broken down could be identified as insecurity.
Benefits of using an emotion wheel:
*Get a deeper understanding of hidden emotions
*Promote open and honest communication about feelings and emotions in relationships by using it with your partner or friends when words feel hard to find
*Use as a parenting tool to help children communicate and understand their emotions.
How to use an emotion wheel:
1) Start off in the center and select a core emotion.
2) Carry it over to the second level, and select a sub-emotion that fits best.
3) Carry that over in a straight line, and select a sub-emotion from the outer ring.
4) Process what you've learned.
Using repetitively may allow for a further understanding of emotions and potential hidden feelings.
