Topic 1:
Certified trainer Loudon Stearns will demonstrate how to create custom wavetables in the Ableton Live Wavetable synth. This quick and easy technique allows any sound to become a playable synth.
Loudon Stearns is an associate professor at Berklee College of Music, a course author and instructor at Berklee Online, and an active media-artist. In the Contemporary Writing and Production Department at Berklee, he prepares students to work as independent composers and producers in a technology-laden music industry. Online, he focuses on the latest electronic music styles and music-technology innovations, showing students how to analyze contemporary styles and use the latest music technology in their own works.
Topic 2:
In this presentation, we will explore the basics of vocal synthesis. Via Live's native Vocoder device, get insights into how your favorite musical artists use vocoders in their performances, and productions.
Claire Marie Lim is a music technologist and live experience designer who has worked with Grammy-nominated and Billboard-charting artists. She is an instructor at 343 Labs and is certified with Bitwig, Ableton, and Apple. Under her artist project dolltr!ck, Claire performs dynamic sets of live electronic music with controllerism and vocals, blending genres across the dance music spectrum from electropop to drum 'n' bass.
