Doctors, health officials, frontline workers and senior citizens with #co-morbities are #eligible for the #boosterdoses. Despite beginning of the #precautionary booster doses, several questions arise nationwide among both the common citizens and doctors!
The nation is reeling under the #effectsofcoronavirus and its new variant #Omicron as the pandemic #coronathirdwave has hit India. This time, the health sector has been affected the most in West Bengal. Amid such a situation in which major section of doctors and health workers are #Covid-19 infected, can they take the booster dose? However, no answer to this question yet.
On the other hand, it is unclear as to when will those who were infected with corona virus soon after taking the second dose, get the booster dose.
According to the previous #guidelines issued by the #UnionHealthMinistry stated that those infected with covid after taking first dose of vaccine, will take their #secondvaccinedose after 3 months. However, no such clear guideline of the #thirddoseofvaccine or the booster dose has been issued yet.
Despite several unanswered questions, people were seen standing in long queues for booster doses since Monday morning. Many are taking booster dose on the advice of their doctors. No #registration in #Co-win portal required for third dose of vaccine or booster dose. One can directly go to a #vaccinationcentre, take appointment and get vaccinated. The Centre has said #seniorcitizens above 60 years of age, who has taken both covid vaccines, will not require any #co-morbiditycertificate to take booster dose. The Centre in its previous guideline has made it compulsory to produce co-morbidity certificate. Later, on the #Centremodifieditsguidelines and said no certificates needed to be produced to take booster dose.
