Ok we're going to show you how to add an 18 ounce vinyl patch to your 18 ounce vinyl. The first thing you do is cut a patch that is going to fit the size of the tear. We recommend using a circle. If you can't use a circle because of the length of the tear you can use a square but make sure that the corners are rounded like so. You don't want any corners on the patch you are using because they will easily peel up. So after you get your patch, you're gong to put the patch over the tear and you're going to trace around the patch with a washable marker, and once your circle or your shape is traced you're going to lift the patch and apply glue to both the traced area and also the patch. After you apply the glue you want to let it sit for about a minute so that both sides are very tacky and then you're going to apply the patch to the traced area with the glue. Once that is applied you want to apply pressure for about five minutes and make sure to use a towel so you don't get the vinyl glue on your hand because sometimes it does seem out of there. All right, it's been about five minutes so let's check out the patch. If you did it correctly it's not going to be peeling from the edges. That's why we don't want corners. If there are any gaps around the edges you can just take the brush and apply glue around the edges and just stick it beneath the patch and then press it down. Other than that, that patch should last you many years.
