Due to their remote location around the globe, many HIV patients lack consistent access to adequate healthcare services, which has contributed to increasing rates of HIV infections in many parts of the world.
That’s why Johnson & Johnson funded a local pilot program in Uganda, East Africa that uses medical drone technology to reliably and efficiently deliver lifesaving HIV medication in the form of antiretroviral therapies, provided by the Ugandan Ministry of Health, to these communities.
In collaboration with our partners, we aim to continue this program to help provide equitable access to medicines and reach our goal of delivering care at the last mile for underserved populations around the world.
