After getting trapped in ice in the Beaufort Sea, the Hudson Bay Company-owned SS Baychimo was abandoned. Everyone assumed the doomed ship would soon sink in the crushing arctic ice. Instead, the derelict ghost ship would haunt the Beaufort Sea for the next 38 years. Her whereabouts today remain a mystery.
