Finance Watch Secretary General Christophe Nijdam was invited to speak at a hearing in the European Parliament on the Commission's securitisation proposals. Finance Watch says that the lessons of the past have not been learnt and that the proposals may help banks gain profitability but are unlikely to result in a simple, transparent and standardised product that will serve customers, as he tells EU Reporter's Catherine Feore.
