In the Big Red Book (2019 edition, pages 100-101), the procedure for 'Getting the wheelchair user off the bus' is laid out very clearly. The driver must keep the front doors closed, deploy the ramp and allow the wheelchair user to alight, and only after that open the front doors to allow new passengers to board.
Instead of doing this, the driver opened the front doors and let a number of new passengers board the bus before allowing me to alight.
The result was that I while was waiting to alight, these passengers entered the bus. This causes delay, obstruction and stress and annoyance. The procedure laid down in the Big Red Book exists for a purpose: to prevent such delay, obstruction and stress and annoyance.
This driver's behaviour was negligent and unprofessional.
