DAMASCUS/SYRIA - The Syriac-Orthodox patriarch Moran Mor Ignatius Aphrem II in his Christmas message on Friday (25/12/2020) spoke about peace, hope, love and unity.

Christmas is about celebrating and remembering the birth of our Lord Jesus Christ whose birth heralded a new era of hope and love to us mankind. His birth signified peace to all mankind as He Himself is the Prince of Peace.

He also spoke with pride about the history of Aram-Damascus in Syria.

Which was the capital of our ancestors the Syriac-Arameans…
…around 1000 years before the birth of Jesus.
And which even today still continues to be the country of every Syriac worldwide.
