Ohio State doctors and researchers are working with cervical cancer patients to save and improve lives through surgery, non-invasive treatment and groundbreaking clinical trials.
Cervical cancer treatment is highly dependent on diagnosis stages, as well as independent patient factors. Because of this, early-stage management often includes surgery, while locally-advanced cervical cancer typically involves chemotherapy and radiation.
While doctors work with patients every day to create personalized care plans, though, researchers are studying ways to improve cervical cancer treatment through new treatments, including minimally-invasive surgeries and immunotherapy.
“At The James at Ohio State, we are actively investigating the role of immunotherapy for the management of cervical cancer,” Kristin L Bixel, MD, says.
