At 2:50PM Monday afternoon, Lehigh County 9-1-1 transmitted a rescue box for the 300 block of 14th Street in the Borough of Catasauqua sending Rescue 2 and Engine 211.

Once on scene, the fire officer reported a car into a tree with heavy entrapment.

One person was in the car when it slid sideways into a tree heavily pinning the male in the car. With all the tools such as the Jaws of Life in-service and the complexity of the rescue, an additional rescue company from Whitehall was special-called.

Firefighters worked for almost an hour to free the driver. Paramedics worked on the patient as the firefighters cut the car apart piece by piece. The drivers legs were pinned under the dashboard.
