Ingredients

* 4 cups black eye beans +/- depending on how you like your Waakye
* 6 cups of rice - +/- depending on how you like your Waakye
* 1.5 - 2 litres of water - +/- depending on how soft you like your Waakye
* 10-15g Salt Petre - kanwa/kanwu (bicarbonate of soda or baking soda)
