This is a detailed video of how to re-thread the crank arm for a tandem bicycle. On a standard bicycle, the pedal threads are threaded uniquely for the for the right and left sides. When a standard right-sided crank is put on the left side of a tandem bicycle, the pedal threads will be wrong. The crank needs to be re-threaded for left-hand threads so correct pedal orientation can be achieved.
