A video to demonstrate the difference in kerosene heater's behavior during shut-off operation between when degraded kerosene is used and when normal kerosene is used
[Explanation of the video]
Kerosene should be used up within a single operating season and shouldn’t be carried over to the next season. When irradiating kerosene with ultraviolet rays, the components degrade and a gummy substance is produced. When such degraded kerosene is used in a heater, the gummy substance adheres and accumulates at the tip of the wick, which blocks the downward movement of the wick during shut-off operation and prevents the flame to be extinguished. Kerosene should be used up within a single operating season and shouldn’t be carried over to the next season. If there is a need to store kerosene, put it in a container with as deep color as possible, close the container lid tightly, and keep it in a dark place with no sunlight.
The experiment is performed by experts. It is very dangerous and never try to do this.
