Many drugs don’t even give you that level of risk reduction. Here’s how to start - block out time in your calendar. Every day, schedule time in your calendar to get moving.
🌱PLANT FORWARD SOLUTIONS:
Rather than thinking about eliminating meat or animal products from your diet, instead think about ADDING in MORE plants. It’s less about taking foods away and more about adding in the foods you need. Start tonight by adding in butternut squash, zucchini, refried beans, or edamame beans.
Always have easy to grab plants in your fridge. You can add them to almost any dish, hide them in pasta sauce, smoothies, omelets - more veggies is more!
🌭LIMIT PROCESSED MEATS:
Any reduction in processed meats will help prevent a cancer recurrence. Here are some tips to get started:
➡️Focus on removing red processed meats first - these have been the most closely linked to cancer
➡️Replace with white meat alternatives (turkey, chicken, fish)
➡️Limit your portion size
➡️Save processed meats for special occasions (hot dogs at birthday parties, charcuterie boards on date night).
