One of Franz Schubert's Waltzes, Op. 9, D 365, No. 3. In Ab Major. 3/4 time. Moderato. Written 1818-1821. My book calls this the first of "Three Waltzes," but really it's part of a collection of more than three (from what I researched).
A simple waltz this time. I think I'm a tad closer to Andante than Moderato in this recording, but close enough. Hadn't played a waltz in a long time, so the timing gave me a bit of trouble at first (even though it's very simple). Got the notes down in a few days, but my fingers on my left hand had a bit of trouble stretching for the notes in the 6th measure. So that took a bit of practice. Had to take breaks or my knuckles hurt. Not perfect, but here it is.
I'm reading from the sheet music of "Classics to Moderns: In the Intermediate Grades," Volume 37 of the "Music for Millions" series. Compiled and edited by Denes Agay. ISBN 0-8256-4037-7.
Keep in mind that this is just my personal performance. There are errors. I try to keep to the sheet music I'm reading, but I also take my own liberties. So use caution basing your performance on mine if you are a student. Be sure to compare to other versions.
The audio of this was recorded using my piano's built-in recording software and a flashdrive. I then replace the video's audio with this recording. This is why you don't hear the keys on my piano thumping and why (as you can see) I'm able to use headphones while recording.
My piano is a Roland FP-80.
Video and audio edited with Filmora 9.
Filmed with an Olympus Tough TG-820 digital camera.
