The Strumbellas are all about liftoff. Singer Simon Ward writes tunes that are teeming with optimism - even if they're ballads - and songs that are aided by the communal vibe that's become the Canadian band's signature trait. The earthy effervescence of their best-known track, 2016's "Spirits," can be addictive, especially on stage. That's why we wanted to have them deliver performances of their new material. It's been a few years since their last album, but the new vivacious new 'Rattlesnake' picks up where the subtle majesty of 'Hope' left off. Their version of pastoral pop has its own radiance.
