Fortnite has become one of the most popular games in the world over the years, and it’s been particularly known for its numerous collabs and crossovers which typically involve new skins being made available for players to purchase.
From massive pop stars such as Ariana Grande, to iconic cartoon characters including the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, there’s a skin that everyone can enjoy in Epic Games Battle Royale but what are the rarest ones?
Rue was released in Chapter 2 Season 2 back in April 2020 and has since only been in two Item Shop rotations. The outfit has since never returned to the shop since there were claims it resembled the German attire.
However, several players counter that claim by mentioning the outfit was inspired by old French fashion, still, the skin lies under controversy and will most likely never return to the Item Shop again.
Kratos, the iconic video game character from the God of War series is by far the most popular Gaming Legends skin in Fortnite. The skin was seen more than two years ago in the Item Shop and has never returned since.
Players were heavily demanding the return of Kratos in Chapter 5 Season 2 since the entire season was themed after Greek mythology and they believed this would be a perfect moment to bring him back to the game.
Despite, several data miners having found Item Shop updates within in-game files that revealed an update to Kratos, the rare skin was never rereleased during Season 2 and has not since then.
Travis Scott’s skin is the rarest Icon Series outfit to ever appear in Fortnite. The outfit was first released in 2020 ahead of the artist’s Astronomical in-game event in Chapter 2 Season 2.
While the event is one of the most played live events in Fortnite history, the popularity and rarity of the artist’s cosmetic skin remains the same. Only to be seen in six Item Shop rotations, Travis Scott has not returned to the in-game shop since April 2020.
Some speculate this is due to the tragedy that occurred at one of Travis’ concerts which forced Epic’s hand to not release the skin again despite the players’ demands.
Reflex outfit could be obtained by redeeming a code for the GeForce Fortnite Bundle gained by purchasing an eligible NVIDIA GeForce graphics card around December 2018. However, the skin was accidentally released in the Item Shop for 1,200 V-Bucks in March 2019 and has since appeared only twice in the shop.
With the accidental release, Epic issued an apology to players in the form of a free Stealth Reflex outfit which was released as part of the NVIDIA bundle in the following season. However, only those who had received Reflex by redeeming a code got the free skin.
The Eon Skin was first available only as part of a promotional bundle for the Xbox One S console, and it came with a digital code that allowed users to redeem the skin and accompanying cosmetics in Fortnite. The bundle was a limited-time deal, which added to its desirability and rarity within the Fortnite community.
The Eon bundle was made available exclusively to Xbox One S owners as of September 27, 2018. The bundle which costs $249.99 and includes an Eon skin, the Xbox console, 2000 V-Bucks, a glider, and a pickaxe, is among the most expensive in the Fortnite community.
Ever since then, Xbox has stopped running the promotion and scalpers are selling the skin codes online for over $1,000 each.
