Maths is a fundamental part of any engineer I will go through the maths I use as a structural engineer. The maths covered will range from general maths to structural mechanics and should provide you with some ideas on what Maths I use in my structural designs.
The amount of maths is extensive in a structural engineering degree, however, the amount of maths use as a professional engineer is much less as designs need to be complete quickly. So it is critical that all structural engineering have a solid founding in mathematics and know what maths are required.
Structural mechanics is also fundamental as this can be used to assess complex structural model and understanding structural mechanics allows for modelling errors to be detected.
