This is my second remake of my "it's a small world" Ambiance video from Disneyland, meant to represent the first couple of years after opening, 1966-68. This video is meant to be a 32 minute Ambient window into the original, 1966-68 version of the Facade and Clock Parade, complete with three Clock Parades (2:15, 2:30, 2:45), one at the beginning and end, and all of the other original sound effects that I could find. This includes the same Area Music that is used to this day, as well as the original Tick Tock effect (Sounded slightly different before the early 80's), English Safety Spiels (First replaced around the mid 70's), Welcome room audio (With adult chorus, removed around early/mid 70's), as well as some audio of people talking and some birds chirping (To make it even more realistic). The two sounds that I could not find, no matter how hard I looked, were the other multilingual safety spiels (If they were even there back then, which I don't know), and the Pre-Jack Wagner Welcome spiel that played at the entrance signage until Jack's spiel replaced it, also around the mid 70's (As the Wagner spiel is in an amazing 1977 sound film, linked below). I actually don't even know what this spiel sounded like, simply because there is absolutely no live audio recordings I've ever heard of it. I know it existed, however, because of the absolutely amazing 1970 sound film (Linked below), where at the beginning there is a nice clip of the facade and original BofA signage, and although I couldn't make out any of the words, I could tell that it was a different spiel. The other reason I know the Jack Wagner spiel didn't play until the mid 70's, is because Jack Wagner became Disneyland's official announcer in 1970. Although most of the facade and signage (As well as most of the rest of the ride) remained very similar if not the same well into the 70's (If not beyond), there were a couple noticeable changes to the facade around late 1968 or so. At that time, there was actually a major overhaul of all of the smaller spinning flowers, replacing the 1966 originals to ones that were much more like the ones used today, and the gears on the clock tower were also repainted from the original black and silver featured here, to medium shade of brown, which lasted until the next gear repaint around late 1974 or so. I also realize this is the second time I've remade this video, this time much longer and better edited than ever before. The previous version is now unlisted and linked below, because at that time I thought the Jack Wagner spiel had played since 1966, even though that was contradicted in the 1970 sound film. This is one of if not the closest thing on the internet to the actual sounds heard outside of "it's a small world" at Disneyland in the first couple of years after opening in 1966. I really hope I can do it justice through this audio mix, because even though I sadly wasn't alive to see it, it clearly was something very beautiful (Not to mention the current version having some of the same music!). I hope you enjoy this special ambiance!
I do not own any of the audio or images used in this video. All of the audio is owned by Disney, and all of the images are owned by their respective owners (Primary sources linked below).
