🙏 Class Description:
This is a 50 min yin yoga class designed to relax your body for when you are on your period. We focus on finding gentle postures (use extra props whenever and wherever you need), to release tension in the body (especially around the lower belly, lower back and a little bit hips).
The class is suitable for all levels of practitioners (it can also be practiced by males 😉). Listen to your body carefully to decided how deep you want to go into a posture. Make the asanas work for you, use props if needed, make adjustments or come out of the posture if your body is telling you to do so.
I am only giving minimal verbal instructions. A lot of people like to listen to slow music as it helps them to dive even deeper into relaxation.

PS: A brief introduction to yin:
- Postures are similar to some ‘yang’ asanas but held in a passive way over an extended period of time (usually between 3-5 mins).
- Keep the muscles in the targeted area relaxed. We are not working on the muscles, but on the connective tissue of the body (deeper fascial network, tendons, ligaments, bones, joints).
- In every posture find your edge (where you first feel a change in the tissue when coming into a posture), stay there in stillness (stillness of the body, the breath and the mind) and hold the posture for the whole duration.

Self-sensitivity. Developing awareness and thereby a feeling for oneself – for the body, thoughts and emotions – recognising one´s own needs and giving them space.
Change of perspective. Instead of looking outwards, looking inwards – reviewing expectations (one´s own and those of others) – discovering what matters most in life.
Self-love. Accepting oneself – getting in touch with one´s own life-themes – developing a loving attitude towards oneself and others.
