How to ditch with a V-bucket on the pipeline. Left bulk, right bulk, grade bulk, heal bulk back up repeat. No finishing, just straight bulking. Also notice how far out my bucket is from my tracks. I don’t let my stick come in closer then a 90 degree angle when it comes out of the ditch with a scoop. Because the majority of an excavators power is around 130 degrees. Not the prettiest ditch, but you cover a lot of ground. Spend time where it matters, bell-holes, tie-ins, bends ... where the men are working down in the ditch.
