- What is the 2013 split system ? -
In 2013, EBU didn't give the detailled results of the semi finals and the grand final of Eurovision, but they give these average rankings. Like the actual eurovision, we take the jurys scores and then, we add the televoting scores.
- What is the average ranking ? -
The average ranking is the average score a country received for all participating countries, we don't use the 1-10 +12 points, but we take all places, between 1 and 26 of each national jury and televoting. The winner is the country which has the smaller average ranking (jury and televoting added).
- Why use this system ? -
Because the result is always different (even sometimes the winner...) as you can see with the other results since 2014 in my channel!
For example : a country A, which receives 1x12 points, but it is last for the rest of the 40 participating countries ; a country B, which doesn't receive points, but it is 11th for all countries.
In the reality, the country A has a better result than the country B (A: 12 points, B: 0 point).
With 2013 split system, the country B has a better result than the country A (B: 11,00 average ranking ; A : 25,37 average ranking). It's really more fair!
- Which are the benefits with this system ? -
The main benefit is the full diaspora and geopolitical votes are almost definitely out ! A country which receive points only thanks to its neighbours will often get a worse result with this system.
